An electric sport boat that leads with performance

The Sterk 31 Emotion is unusual among electric boats: where most trade speed for range, it does the opposite. Twin Vision Marine E-Motion drives put a combined 270 kW (360 hp) through a 9.3-metre planing hull, and in the sports configuration the builder quotes a top speed near 60 knots — figures that belong to a petrol performance boat, not a quiet one.

That performance has a cost, and the yard is honest about it: range is up to 70 nautical miles, and only at gentler speeds. A lithium bank of around 170 kWh recharges overnight from an ordinary 220-volt marina outlet. This is a boat for spirited day runs and short hops between anchorages, not long passages.

Built in Germany by MS Marine GmbH, with race-bred engineering from Shaun Torrente Racing, it carries a T-top, teak platforms and CE certification for six (Category B) or eleven (Category C). At launch it is offered for the US and Canadian market, from USD 249,000 excluding VAT.

For a buyer who wants the silence and instant torque of electric drive without giving up outright speed, the Sterk 31 Emotion is one of very few boats that answer.
